Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Technological Information, Management & Engineering Sciences (JTIMES) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical practices in scholarly publishing. Plagiarism in any form is considered a serious violation of publication ethics and will not be tolerated.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying or reproducing text, figures, tables, or data from another work without proper citation.

  • Paraphrasing significant portions of another’s work without acknowledgment.

  • Submitting previously published material (self-plagiarism) without disclosure or permission.

  • Using ideas, methodologies, or results of others without proper credit.

Plagiarism Detection

All submitted manuscripts undergo initial plagiarism screening using plagiarism detection software. The editorial team also conducts manual checks to ensure originality.

Acceptable Similarity Index

  • A similarity index of up to 15% (excluding references, quotations, and methodological descriptions) is considered acceptable.

  • Any manuscript exceeding this threshold will be returned to the author(s) for revision or may be rejected outright.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected:

  1. Before publication – the manuscript will be rejected immediately, and authors may be barred from submitting to the journal for a specified period.

  2. After publication – the article will be retracted, and a notice of plagiarism will be published on the journal’s website.

  3. In severe cases, the author’s institution and/or funding agency may be notified.

Author’s Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is original, properly cited, and does not infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others. By submitting to JTIMES, authors affirm that their manuscript is free of plagiarism.

Editorial Responsibility

The editorial board of JTIMES is committed to ensuring ethical publishing standards and will take appropriate action in all cases of suspected or confirmed plagiarism.
